New Classes

Michaelangelo Gallery offers a figure drawing class with a live model on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Taught by gallery owner, and established nationally renowned artist, Angelo Grova, these two hour lessons are intensive observational practices in perceiving the human body.

In each class session, the student is urged to develop a sensitivity to the structure, anatomy and expressive qualities of male and female bodies in considering the role of lines, planes, values, masses and shapes, as the 3-dimensional form is translated into a 2-dimensional rendering of it.

After continued practice of conceptualizing the proportions of the body using traditional mediums, the students are encouraged to use color and various mediums and then critically analyze the results of this experimentation.
